If you have mastered the basics of Dutch at A1 level and would like to expand your vocabulary, learn past tenses, and practise using conjunctions, this is the right course for you. The course is taught in English or Polish.
Duration: 15 weeks × 1 hour of individual online lessons per week,

Learning materials included: Two textbooks and access to an e-learning platform with video lessons and multimedia exercises (6 months of access), all included in the total price (€1,500.00).

Let's talkYou will receive two textbooks for this level (A1–A2) by post, included in the course fee. In addition, you will gain access to our Edu-Dutch Academy e-learning platform, which includes 50+ video lessons and 80+ multimedia exercises that complement the course books. It is the perfect combination for learning and retaining new vocabulary quickly and effectively, reviewing grammar explanations, and gaining the confidence to start speaking Dutch.
During the lessons with your teacher, you will practise all language skills, including writing, reading, listening, and speaking. The lessons focus on applying and reinforcing the material you have prepared beforehand.
In the first part of the course (Modules 1–8), you will learn how to talk about your strengths, weaknesses, and emotions while expanding your vocabulary. You will then explore topics such as body parts and physical appearance, being ill, making an appointment with a general practitioner, the difference between making an appointment and arranging to meet someone, ordering fries and eating at a restaurant, education and learning, school, and office supplies. In terms of grammar, you will learn comparative and superlative forms, word order in longer sentences, the imperative, diminutives, the present perfect tense, and many useful words and expressions that are commonly used in everyday conversations.
The second part of the course (Modules 9–16) begins with learning how to talk about the weather: today, tomorrow (future), and yesterday (past). You will practise speaking in different tenses and contexts. Other topics include childhood memories and family life, making complaints, travelling and holiday plans, Dutch food culture and gezelligheid, sports, and Dutch traditions such as cycling and ice skating. In terms of grammar, you will learn the simple past tense, separable verbs in different sentence structures, conjunctions and their usage, reflexive verbs, the Dutch word er, and practical constructions that are frequently used in everyday Dutch, such as bezig zijn met and zitten te.

After successfully completing this course, you can continue your Dutch studies with the A2–B1 course.
On the e-learning platform, you will find 16 modules that complement the course books, where you can watch additional grammar explanation videos and complete interactive exercises. Access to the platform is included for 6 months. If you continue with the next course with us, your access will be extended.
The platform also includes audio recordings from the course books and answer keys for the book exercises.
In addition to the 15 contact hours with your teacher, you should expect approximately 30–40 hours of additional self-study.
With the Academy Edu-Dutch platform, you can learn Dutch independently, wherever and whenever it suits you.

The platform is designed to help you learn Dutch faster and more effectively, while reinforcing what you learn during your lessons.
On average, you will spend approximately 30–40 hours on self-study throughout the course. We recommend setting aside at least 4–5 hours per week to learn and practise Dutch.
The more time you invest in studying, completing assignments, and practising the language, the better your results will be and the faster your progress will be.
On the Academy Edu-Dutch platform, you can take a test after each module. A score of 75% or higher is required to pass. In total, there are 16 module tests.
After completing the final module (Module 8 of Part 1 and Module 16 of Part 2), you can take an online final exam. If you achieve a score of 75% or higher, you will pass the exam and be able to download a certificate from the platform confirming the level you have achieved.
